After reading the post yesterday about the " proximity praise "citing cover and the proximity necessary to photojournalism, we were very sad to read the news that the Spaniard Emilio Morenatti, AP photographer, one of the most significant current photojournalists and camera Andi Jatmiko were injured in Afghanistan after an attack on a military convoy they were traveling. Jamitko suffered some injuries and two broken ribs. Emilio suffered serious injuries and had a foot amputated.

Emilio Morenatti was named Newspaper Photographer of the Year 2009 for the International Pictures of the Year , received honorable mention from the World Press Photo in 2007, among other awards.

We wish a speedy and full recovery to journalists.

Well, proximity is something that fascinates us and that, therefore, almost blinds us.
We could discuss the topic for hours and never would understand indeed what makes us choose the exposure to potentially more dangerous situations than considered normal in daily life would bring.

For it is this closeness and the first victim was his own cover. Mesmoa so, I think it more important than many frills photoshopentas. At least for photojournalism! Prefer a Morenatti many jokes imagery. Too bad, sad. But someone who enforces his profession and does not play in photojournalism

Yeah, I still believe in that approach Photojournalists of events to tell their stories. In the strong recovery by the crowd of journalists and to a VIVA Morenattis and Jatmikos!

An accident like this should serve to make us think about the current international crisis that photojournalists live. Increasingly devalued by the holders of the average sacrifice to this point and not have their work recognized. Let there be justice!

The photograph has the power to expand in time. I feel that photography is one that arises from within. Something I can not explain. I never met Mario, but he must have been like. I think after reading the fine text of Claudio Feijoo.

Unfortunately it is the result of actual proximity. The need of the will to see and feel what you photograph. People like that are real and photojournalism would be great if they were shielded from such situations. But humans are showing others how to live human beings and not-so human as well. Involvement is very little to define such a professional!
Congratulations to those who carry out the blog. I hope to meet some of these talents in Paraty. To
