Lumière Brothers, a hint of Patricia Lyons

We received this precious suggestion of an exhibition that takes place in Curitiba, in the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, sent by Patricia Lyons here to Blog:
The autochromes Lumière, the time of color. (MON-CTBA)
With so much information on the blog and will come in Paraty in Focus could not help but comment on a fantastic display, here in Curitiba, on autochromes the Lumière brothers.

The assembly brings 70 images, an original Autochrome, a painting by Antonio Lumiere, the father of Louis and Auguste Lumiere. And several films for projection on the cinematograph, the most widespread of his inventions that made possible the projection of films on the big screen.

The Autochrome process is invented for the first color photographs. In short, there are millions of grains of potato starch painted in three colors, laid out on glass plates.
The colors resulting from this process, combined with the compositions of the Lumiere Brothers, made me forget that there were more than 100 years.
Most of the pieces presented here are of Lumiere in the record of their intimacy. The proximity of the whole family with photographic equipment results in images much more loose, a natural contemporary, far ahead of his time.
At the turn of the century, the study of the color was nothing more than the quest for the accuracy of reality. In this case, tested and refined in the vicinity of its inventors. The result is a wonderful document of the most diverse situations and customs of the broad family Lumiere.
