Family confirmed that the photographer Mario Cravo Neto Baiano, 62, died of cancer on Sunday afternoon (09/07). According to a source who works with the artist Mario Cravo was hospitalized for three weeks in the Hospital Alliance after having his picture worsened doctor. For a year he remained in St. Paul fighting against cancer. In July, he returned to Salvador to continue the tratamento.De international repercussions, the work of Mario Cravo Neto's main characteristic is the connection with the universe exists in african-Christian hometown, Salvador. Mario Cravo Neto began in the art of photography and sculpture in 1964. He studied at the Art Student's League of New York (1969-1970) and participated in the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 17th Biennale of Sao Paulo. In 1980 and 1995 received the award for Best Photographer of the Year of the São Paulo Association of Art Critics in 1996 the National Prize of Photography in 2004 and Funarte Mario Pedrosa Award of the Association of Art Critics.
