NOTHING IS IN PLACE
"But from everything a little.
Bombed the bridge,
Two blades of grass,
The packet - empty - cigarette, got a little. "
In Waste, Carlos Drummond de Andrade
Eleven months sabbatical, 56 cities visited on foot, by car, bicycle, train, boat, bus, ferry or plane felucca. The shoulder strap, two digital cameras and a laptop, totaling thousands of images stored in memory 20 gigs. Twenty gigabytes of memory. Stolen. On the way home. In Sao Paulo. One night in the absence and cold. Moments, passages, fragments of gesture and light, images legitimating personal events, portraits of an identity hobo - all lost. It now exists only in some copies only printed and also drawings, collages and prints, to reproduce no more time, but the memory of the moment, as restored ruins, where new and old materials are mixed together to reassemble the reality on the fraction of evaporated seconds after the fact happened. In his "lost memories", Elisa confronts us with the universal fact - and not always acceptable - that once the time changes, changes also the truth.
