Joan Fontcuberta: the quintessence of the simulacrum.

Yesterday, I attended the lecture by Spanish photographer Joan Fontcuberta and theoretical. There were two hours (which could be a lot more) of total seduction and professionalism. In his presentation "Imágenes Cosnpirativas" Fontcuberta involved a packed auditorium leading his speech rhythmically, almost building a dynamic opera with apexes of allegories, more serene passages, outbursts and great apotheosis. Thus, all very well orchestrated and matted on the fiction in photography and their photographic productions.

Joan Fontcuberta is one of the most significant thinkers of the photographic language of today. There is no one theory. Neither is any one photographer. Thought and photographic image is consistent in his speech. It would be like if we saw when he explains, as well as feel his rhetoric when we contemplate his work imagery. Fontcuberta knows persuading the word, is eloquent. He worked from the perspective of sham from beginning to end. Lets just clear that reality is a "fiction embedded in the photograph." What our eye tries to argue before an image is to glimpse "of ways to structure the sense of reality."

Those who know more deeply the literary work of Joan Fontcuberta know that their explanations and epistemological axes revolve around the construction of meanings that permeate the picture. "Truths" even though they do not exist. What Fontcuberta helps us to realize is that categorically, as he himself states: "Every es una imagen shit." By understanding this bias simulation of the idiosyncrasies and peculiarities of authentic language we can expand our critical perception to the world we live in iconographic.

Didactically, with refined humor and insightful, Fontcuberta destrinchou his conduct "simulated" in their projects / tests: Herbarium, Wildlife, and Sputnik Descontructing Osama. Analyzing images, putting music and videos, seduced us. It seems to be superficial? There was a conference symbolic and extremely subtle in its conceptual refinement. For nothing was as real as the willingness to expose images that confuse and directing symbolic meanings. And the perceptual context of all this? In a sense, is cultural and ideological. Joan Fontcuberta conspired. We showed that a speech is made of imagination and conviction stance. Theorized the time. And the proof was personified to believe is to look carefully at what the other wants to tell us. Fontcuberta installed doubt, duality, the dichotomy in his speech. Not so prosaic, but vigorously as if to prove that there is more beyond what we see.

The image is Fontcuberta makes us reflect on the latitude of the fictional character in the picture. The path is the joints and groups of stories. If all that is believable? Just depends on who believes. If you are reading this who think I do not have credibility, good, then nothing is true. And so, yesterday was not a real experience ...
