Lecture "Curatorial and Colecionalismo" with Rosely Nakagawa and Georgia Farms

Yesterday, he started 3rd Week Photo of Recife . Apart from a clothesline photographic marathon photographic exhibitions and projections, there were many meetings.

The highlight was the lecture by the curator Rosely Nakagawa. Particularly, I was very happy to see and hear one of the people who live in my photographic imagery. In the early 1990s, it was impossible to publish on a photograph does not bring the name Rosely. An active participant in the transformation of Brazilian photography started in the last thirty years, Rosely understands and knows what he does. With the mediation of Georgia Farms, the lecture became a chat light and pleasant. The conversation touched on issues such as collecting, curation, exhibition, author, portfolio, etc..

Rosely is serenity personified. Visibly tired after doing ten readings portfolio, she was friendly, didactic and gave us a lesson. Showed part of his collection of photographs and as she began to be formed. Gave clear notions of how a portfolio should be done ... and what not to do. He spoke of the difficulties of being a pioneer in exhibiting photography in Brazil, when it began in 1979, the Gallery Fotoptica. All no-frills, technicalities or glare. A sympathy.

Undoubtedly, the meeting could have been better if the site is another. The choice of an open space in the Malakoff Tower was unhappy. Outside, trucks, buses and motorcycles hindered speech. A showboating guitar went outside at one time and the buzz of conversations do not hurt quite interested. Otherwise, the audience was very good and attentive. A wonderful participation. Talking with Matthew Sa and Geyson Great, it was clarified that the Tower was the only place available on Sunday and that experience will not be repeated. Problems and errors are normal and bypassed. The important thing is to learn and improve.
