Andrew Lopez, United Press International, won the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in 1960 for his series of four photographs of running a cable from the Cuban army by firing squad after the Cuban revolution. The photographer was assigned to cover the trial of war crimes in San Severino, a former military installation. The main photo shows the cable known as Pepe Rodriguez Jose Caliente, which condemned to death was taken to a courtyard where he falls down in front of a priest to receive his last rites.
