Exhibition of documentary photographer André Cypriano get to Porto Alegre

After being displayed in 15 Brazilian cities come to Porto Alegre on Friday, January 08, 2010, the exhibition Quilombola - Traditions and Culture of Resistance, the documentary photographer André Cypriano, the Centro Cultural Usina do Gasometer - Arcos Gallery . The photographs were taken by photographer in negative conventional black and white digitally treated, is the result of field research in 11 communities of color reminiscent of quilombos in Brazil, including the Quilombo Mumbuca in Bushmen. The exhibition, which Porto Alegre is sponsored by Petrobras, consists of 27 photographs in black and white, in the 50 cm x 75 cm, seven panoramic photographs in the format 40 cm x 110 cm, six black- and white 30 x 40 cm, two maps, five panels of text and captions. The show which began in 2007, was designed initially to a few cities. However, due to the interest of public and institutional bodies of culture, the show has circulated for 15 Brazilian cities and eight cities in Latin America - Asuncion, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, La Paz, Lima, Bogota, Quito and Caracas. In this new phase, 15 exhibitions are scheduled throughout the country, including Maceió (AL - 26/01), Rio Branco (AC - 02/02), Juazeiro (BA - 06/02), among others. The exhibition is curated by Denise Carvalho, cultural producer and director of Aori Cultural Productions, a company director of the project.
