Photography has been a fundamental tool for some illustrators, always looking for better ways, the camera has been a natural ally. The hundreds of iconic photographs designed by celebrated painter and American illustrator Norman Rockwell (1894-1978), are an example. He fashioned his narrative scenarios in detail-in studio sessions, and then do the illustrations. His method consisted in copying photographs he conceived and directed meticulously working with many photographers and using friends and neighbors as models. Recently the publisher Little Brown and Company published the book "Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera". See more illustrations based on photographs here
