Paraty in Focus 2011

Click Recycle campaign is getting cameras in good condition, to donate to social inclusion projects that have their photograph in the middle of action. Promoted by Paraty in Focus, in partnership with the International Festival of Photography FNAC, the campaign will continue until the last day of the Festival (September 19).

The representatives of the Fnac stores in Sao Paulo, Campinas, Ribeirao Preto, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Brasilia are already receiving donations. Some features are required for the cameras can be donated. Will be accepted only small machines in good condition, with memory card, rechargeable battery and charger.

Each project entered in the campaign will receive the number of cameras required, and will be treated as order of registration. Tomorrow, June 30th is the last opportunity for social projects do join the campaign. Entries must be made ​​here .

On September 24, after the end of action and Paraty in Focus, Fnac deliver cameras received the Magdalene House. The initiatives have included 27-30 September to seek the equipment in the studio Magdalene (Vila Madalena, São Paulo - CEP 05434-090).

Being "Inventory of the Earth" the theme of the Festival this year, the campaign Click Recycle, and equip children with cameras, will discuss the disposal of materials and consumption. Aiming to promote photography as an instrument of social and cultural development, the Paraty in Focus conducts photography workshops for youth, with poor communities served by the ITAE (Trail Institute of Art and Education) since its first edition, and now expects as a result the first year of this initiative, the collection of a significant number of machines, so the project can become an effective stimulus to the photographic practice for Brazilian youth.

The social projects of the city of Paraty "Itae Boys" and "School House" are already registered. The project Boys Itae happened since the first edition of Paraty in Focus, in 2005, under the coordination and Giancarlo Mecarelli Maxime Delmotte. This year, the duo was invited to incorporate the project in their home school program classes.

Throughout the year, students learn to shoot, know the work of great photographers and at the end of the learning process, exhibit their work at the Festival. Through photography, the young man realizes that the better way and also about their own role within the community where he lives. During the Festival, the course participants act as junior reporters, under the coordination of the photographer Luciana Cavalcanti.
