Sao Paulo receives Pernambuco

In an unprecedented initiative in Pernambuco, Plural Art Gallery held in March a new project entitled "Pernambuco Calls", which functions as an exchange between photographers of the various states of the country in one edition, the Pernambuco Teresa Maia, Claudia Jacobovitz, Mariana Guerra, Matthew and Alexandra Sá Bethlehem received in the Recife Paulista Fernanda Prado, Celisa Beraldo, Marcello Vitorino Gabriel Boieras, Paula Cinquetti and Luciana Cattani. Now São Paulo receives Pernambuco, which has the same exhibition in Sao Paulo, from 10 June 2010, the Territory of the photo. There are 11 professionals with different languages and intentions that come together to provide totally free testing in a joint exhibition. Curated by journalist and critic of photography Simonetta Persichetti, the design idea is to invite a state each year, creating a dialogue between the imagery Brazilian photographers. "We want to talk, converge to somehow try to trace a panorama photograph of the country that we are producing is very different? It is similar? Does it matter? "Asked Persichetti. "The desire is to bring together the most distinguished voices, be a pole glue trends, experiences and thinking of the photo," he adds. The inspiration to build the "Pernambuco Calls" came the wistful weeks of photography of the 1980s created by Funarte.
