The short film Break the Fog, whose theme is the life and work of photographer * Haruo Ohara, part of the programming of the 38th Gramado Film Festival to be held 6-14 August. Produced by Kinoarte (Institute of Film and Video London), written and directed by Rodrigo Grota, the video for 16 minutes compete with 16 other productions in six categories: best short film, director, actor, actress, screenplay and photography.

One representative of the National Exhibition in Paraná Short Festival, the film went into production in March 2009, within the state. For its realization, the Kinoarte was supported by the Instituto Moreira Salles, who gave members of his collection images and information about the photographer. With the Historical Museum of London have achieved about 250 props.

Break the Fog is the last episode of the trilogy of forgetfulness, being preceded by the award-winning Satori Uso (2007) and Booker Pittman (2008). The design resulted from the idea of ​​short Rodrigo Grota Kinoarte and producers to make a trilogy about three artists (a poet, a musician and a photographer) in London of 50 years. The film member of the Gramado Film Festival was shot between 4 and 12 July 2009 in 15 locations in London and region. Composed mostly of Japanese descent, the cast also includes the participation of two daughters of Haruo, Toyoko and Mary Ohara Etuko.

The launch of Break the Fog occurred on April 8 this year, during the first edition of Fotolink - International Meeting of Photography in London. The event was called the grandson of Saul also a photographer and Haruo Ohara, who attended the roundtable Photography, preservation and language: the acquis Haruo Ohara and its importance for contemporary Brazilian photography with the coordinator of the Technical Reserve Photographic IMS, Sergio Burgi.

* Haruo Ohara (1909-1999) arrived in Brazil in 1927, coming from the Japanese province of Kochi, Japan, where he was born. He lived in London between 1933 and 1999 and produced almost 20 000 images of the city. Throughout his career, he participated in several fotocineclubes, some in the city of Paraná, and arrived to join the dedicated Photo Cine Club Girl Scouts, St. Paul. Among the topics most frequently recorded by the photographer are the country life, their family and the development of the northern region of Paraná.
