The first day of Georges Rousse in Paraty
Inside a van, three Brazilians, an Argentine and a couple of Frenchmen. Georges Rousse and wife are on their way to Paraty, and face a slow descent of the Serra do Mar in full weekend of September 7.
After nearly six hours of travel, Rousse wants to see where will his work . Mira, the old market of all possible angles, photographs, reviews, asks "where is north?" And he responds after checking the compass of your iPhone. Looking for the sun, is the contrast of light in the tropics and smell of urine that usually accompanies the open and idle.
The real work must begin the next day. Meanwhile, the curious note accompanying the shuttle of Rousse, imagining the traces and calculations that should occupy your mind this time.
French, English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian to make the list of languages pronounced during the day in a chaotic mix that recalls the classic scene from "A Talking Picture" , Manoel de Oliveira, everyone understands that regardless of the language spoken .
Such is the language of art, chaos is ordered that the exact point at which the work must be observed.
