The South African Pieter Hugo enjoys an eclectic imagery associated with himself the next generations. It also shifts the geographical point, centered in Europe and the United States, to produce in their own land and surrounding area in its suburbs, steeped in the idiosyncrasies of his art more atavistic. So with the series "Nollywood", 2008, captured in Nigeria: Powerful pictures from a low-cost industry that produces over 1000 films a year. The distance from the glamor is expressed with rare cinematic aesthetics. The same density is reflected in another series "The Dog Master" whose representation of a creator of hyenas, like a simple dog, subverts the domestic rules of the common, the banal, in imposing an approximation truly surreal.
As these and other series, the fascination with the image that works the urban hybridity, its nuances and interpretations, the local aesthetic transposed without barriers, only a few issues that will be the curator and anthropologist Georgia Farms and photographer and editor will discuss with Alexandre Belém Hugo and the audience in Paraty. Interviewers, Pernambuco youth develop their individual sections in Sao Paulo, Thursday in graduate school in photography FAAP, where photography is dedicated to thought and its syntax, and Bethlehem, in command of the image in virtualized and Olhavê Veja.Com sites. At the meeting, a moment of photography without borders.
